The world is changing more rapidly than the pace at which the world’s population can adapt. A convergence of three forces – globalization, technological advancement, and climate change – defines this complex era of polarizing opportunity and increased income inequality in the U.S. and around the world. In response, change agents from the private, public, and non-profit sectors are developing a variety of inclusive solutions that bring together stakeholders to simultaneously address basic needs and create jobs for the vulnerable.
Faculty members from SMU’s Hunt Institute for Engineering & Humanity at the Lyle School of Engineering will share their research of global best practices and the “disruptive collaboration” model that generates the conditions needed for scalable impact and Inclusive market transformation. Join this conversation to explore:
Examples of entities currently working around the world that foster innovation, relationships, disseminate knowledge, and perform other critical functions for collaboration.
How disruptive collaboration can produce sustainable benefits, both intangible and material, and effective models for scalability.
The five necessary pillars that foster access in an inclusive economy: innovation, education, aggregation, collaboration and finance.
Opportunities for transformational impact through inclusive economic development, especially when supported by smart policy, which are both logistically possible and economically attractive.
